About Ilumae

Ilumae GmbH, based in Dresden, develops and manufactures flexible, diffusing light guides under the diffLUX® brand. The light guides enable homogeneous illumination along the entire fiber length and are used, among other things, in automotive interior lighting, in architecture, in consumer electronics and in the entertainment sector. The company customizes its products individually: by changing raw materials, adapting the production setup, controlling light diffusion, and using one or two light sources; various fiber diameters and full or partial activation of side scattering are also possible. A particular advantage is that prototypes and smaller quantities can be realized without tooling costs. Originally, the light guides were developed to solve a customer requirement in the entertainment industry — illuminating a dance floor without additional space requirements and without maintenance access.
