About IMK Engineering
IMK Engineering GmbH was founded in 1990 in Chemnitz by three former senior employees of the development department of SDAG Wismut. The company operates as a development, design, planning and general contractor and supports projects from concept through development, technical calculation and standards-compliant documentation to functional prototype manufacturing. The range of services extends from concept studies and welding and machining fixtures to test benches and customer-specific special solutions, predominantly one-off items. Key areas are construction and mining machinery such as micro wheel loaders, dump trucks, blast hole drilling rigs and roadheaders, general mechanical engineering including test benches, defence technology with military special vehicles and retrofit kits, as well as automotive supply and forestry technology. Materials include steel, in particular for welded assemblies according to customer specifications. As a partner in the European joint project Hy.CoMM, the company conducts research on hydrogen drives for mining vehicles, and in the project LeiPo-3D-FKM on lightweight construction using metal 3D printing. The quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015.
