About Imkerei Ahrens

Imkerei Ahrens is a family business that has existed for over 100 years in Faßberg-Müden (Örtze) in the heart of the Südheide region on the edge of the Lüneburg Heath. Run by master beekeeper Klaus Ahrens, the business manages around 200 bee colonies, which are migrated to different forage sources across Germany depending on the season. Forest honey, blossom honey and lime honey are produced in the regional area; long-distance migrations also yield fir honey, buckwheat honey and sweet chestnut honey, among others. Specialities include cornflower honey, heather honey, heather press honey and Scheibenhonig (sliced comb honey). Filling takes place in the company's own facility with a modern filling machine, gently processed and finely creamed. Sales are conducted via a farm shop, an online shop with shipping (usually 4–5 days delivery time) as well as weekly markets in Langenhagen and Hanover. Several honeys have been awarded prizes at the Eurobee Honey Award in Friedrichshafen.
