Company

Founded in 1992 as IMM Meßtechnologie GmbH and operating under its current name since 2008, IMM Photonics GmbH develops and produces custom photonic solutions: tailor-made laser modules, laser diode components, fiber optics (pigtails, receptacles, multiplexers, visual fault locators), UV and UVC LED products as well as optics such as lenses, filters, prisms and beam splitters. The range of services covers consulting, design, development, prototyping, testing and series production from small to large volumes – from simple to complex fiber coupling and collimation applications. Manufacturing takes place at two German sites: headquarters in Unterschleißheim near Munich and the Technologiecampus 2 in Teisnach (Lower Bavaria) with a focus on series production, complemented by selected partners. The production equipment includes an ISO Class 6 cleanroom, production rooms for Class 3B and 4 lasers, air-conditioned rooms with an Electrostatic Protected Area per DIN EN 61340-5-1, darkrooms and collimation benches, 3D printing for toolmaking and series production, robotics for gluing and alignment processes, as well as semi-automated collimator production and automated fiber optic alignment. Customers come from industry, sensor technology, life science, medical and data communications. Quality management is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
