About IMOS Gubela
IMOS Gubela GmbH is a family-owned manufacturer of optical components based in Renchen, Baden-Württemberg. The company develops and manufactures high-precision plastic optics such as lenses, Fresnel lenses, filters and micro-optics as well as reflectors and optical films for industrial applications. The value chain covers optical design and engineering, CAD and FEM simulation, prototyping from the material of the end product, in-house tool and mold making, ultra-precision machining on 5-axis machines, plastic injection molding (also with protective gas injection), metalworking, as well as metrology and logistics. Production takes place on modern injection molding machines and 5-axis ultra-precision machines in air-conditioned rooms with vibration damping; robotics enables an almost fully automated production. The components are used, among others, in industrial sensor technology, metrology, laser technology, automation, medical technology, lighting technology, traffic engineering and safety systems, as well as in research projects such as the FACT telescope of gamma-ray astronomy.

Materials and Processes
Plastic from granulate
Raw material for optical components such as lenses, Fresnel lenses, filters and micro-optics produced by injection molding.
Metal (tool and mold making)
Used for tools, mold inserts and highly accurate, mirror-like surfaces in ultra-precision mold making.
Plastic injection molding
Manufacture of optical components on modern, energy-efficient injection molding machines, also with protective gas injection.
Plastic embossing
Process for producing optical structures and films in addition to injection molding.
Ultra-precision machining (5-axis)
Production of mirror-like, highly accurate surfaces in air-conditioned rooms with vibration-damping masses.
