Our Idea
IMOSP (Intelligent Monitoring Of Storage Pests) is developing an AI-powered early detection system for storage pests in stored goods. Compact monitoring probes continuously capture measurement data using a camera with IR illumination, a MEMS microphone, and temperature and humidity sensors, and transmit it via WLAN/LAN with local buffer storage to an evaluation platform. There, CNN and LSTM models analyze the data in real time; in the event of conspicuous infestation patterns, customers are notified automatically and the expert team recommends a scientifically based control strategy. The offering is aimed at grain warehouses, seed companies, silo operators, storage halls, as well as exporters and importers of dried fruits, tea, and spices. A functional prototype based on Raspberry Pi was tested in the laboratory, among others, with Sitophilus granarius and Tribolium confusum; LOIs have been received, among others, from biological consulting and for pilot interest from abroad. The project is funded by the European Social Fund+ and the State of Berlin.
