About IEP Pölz

Industrieelektronik Pölz GmbH (IEP) is a family-owned company founded in 1986 by Herbert Pölz, headquartered in Ried im Traunkreis, Upper Austria, with a branch office in Freilassing, Germany. The company develops and manufactures safety-critical systems for emergency response organizations: electronic SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) monitoring systems (Checkbox, EURO-BOX), battery test and charging systems for emergency vehicles, charging and regeneration systems for NiCd/NiMH batteries (energy consumption management), and air and power supply systems with combination connectors and hose reel systems. The products are developed in close cooperation with fire departments and other emergency services and are oriented to their real operating conditions. A large share of production takes place in Upper Austria; the housings are made of temperature- and splash-water-resistant, recyclable polymer thermoplastics. The systems are in use in Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy and Switzerland; more than 15,000 emergency vehicles and boats are connected to Pölz systems. The company is led by Markus and Martina Pölz (second generation).
