INEOS Oligomers is a business unit of INEOS Group and, according to company statements, the world's largest integrated manufacturer of low-viscosity polyalphaolefins (LV PAO). The product portfolio comprises Linear Alpha Olefins (LAO), used as co-monomers in polyethylene production as well as in surfactants, lubricants and oil drilling fluids; polyalphaolefins for high-performance synthetic lubricants from automobiles to wind turbines; polybutenes (PIB) for lubricants, adhesives, coatings, pharmaceutical and agricultural applications; and specialty products such as cyclopentane, diisobutylene, isoamylene, isododecane, isohexadecane, methoxypentane and methylpropadiene for cosmetics, refrigerants and tire production. In 2022 the company commissioned the world's largest single-train LV PAO plant in Chocolate Bayou, Texas; in 2023 this was followed by EFfCI GMP certification for cosmetic ingredients. The company is headquartered in League City, Texas, with European sites in Rolle (Switzerland) and Feluy (Belgium) as well as sales offices in Tokyo and Singapore.
