About the InformationsZentrum Beton
The InformationsZentrum Beton GmbH (IZB) was founded in 1972 by the German cement industry and is the central information platform of the industry. Its sole shareholder is the Verein Deutscher Zementwerke e.V. (VDZ). The IZB does not manufacture components itself, but provides technical consulting for clients, architects, engineers and contractors across the entire field of building with concrete – from building construction to civil engineering and road construction, as well as landscaping and agricultural construction. Its key focus areas are climate protection and resource efficiency, in particular clinker-reduced cements, recycled concrete and material-saving components. The offering includes technical events and web seminars, further training such as the certificate of competence pursuant to § 62 WHG/AwSV, publications and planning aids, a project database with more than 500 concrete structures, and an online bookshop (betonshop.de). In addition to its headquarters in Düsseldorf, the IZB maintains offices in Beckum, Sehnde (Hanover) and Ostfildern.
