Ing-D.B. GmbH, based in Lünen, specializes in the automation of counting processes and develops the camera-based counting system Nitpicker. The system captures small parts visually and determines the piece count in real time – independently of the weight of the individual parts. It thus offers an alternative to manual counting methods and counting scales, which reach their limits especially with parts of low or varying weight as well as under vibration or changing operating conditions. Nitpicker is available in three sizes with A4, A3 and A2 counting surfaces and is used in warehousing, shipping, assembly and inventory. The system is ready for use within minutes, can be operated without connection to the existing IT infrastructure and without an internet connection, and can be adapted to the working environment via a one-time calibration.
