About Puls-air

Ing. W. Pletzer Autohaus – Puls Air GmbH develops and manufactures compact warm-air heating units in Going am Wilden Kaiser (Tyrol) for workshops, halls and commercial premises. The technology is based on pulsating combustion, which engineer Georg Pletzer developed in 1978 as part of engine research for unmanned target drones and implemented in the first series-production heating unit in 1984. The units achieve an efficiency of at least 97 %, operate free of soot and with low maintenance, and can be run on heating oil, diesel or HVO 100. Three models with outputs of 17.5 to 23.5 kW for spaces of roughly 600 to 1,800 m³ are produced in-house; design, production and final assembly take place entirely in-house without outsourcing, using German components. Customers are mainly automotive workshops, car dealerships, body and paint shops as well as businesses with storage and residential halls in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and other European countries.

History – three generations

  1. 1978

Engineer Georg Pletzer develops an engine with pulsating combustion for unmanned target drones (tested up to Mach 0.7); this gives rise to the idea of a heating unit with around 97 % efficiency.

  2. 1984

Georg Pletzer delivers the first Puls-air warm-air heating unit; son Werner Pletzer takes over production and sales for the German market, expansion into Switzerland, England and the then Czechoslovakia.

  3. 2007

Werner Pletzer (2nd generation) systematically expands market coverage in Germany, Switzerland and Italy.

  4. 2022

Luca Pletzer (3rd generation) takes over the Austrian market.

  5. Heute

Werner and Luca Pletzer jointly run production in their own manufacturing facilities with German components; markets in AT, DE, CH, IT and throughout Europe.
