About Innospection
Innospection is a provider of advanced inspection services for the integrity and remaining-life assessment of onshore and offshore topside, splash zone and subsea assets. The company is a division of Sonomatic Limited and holds an extensive portfolio of patents for MEC™ (Magnetic Eddy Current) technology, an evolution of the industry-proven SLOFEC™ corrosion screening technique. The MEC technique combines a high-frequency eddy current field with a controlled DC magnetic field and enables the detection of internal and external corrosion and pitting damage through coatings, without surface preparation down to bare metal. The service portfolio includes CUI inspection, heat exchanger tube inspection, storage tank floor inspection, pipe and pressure vessel inspection as well as subsea pipeline, riser, caisson and flexible pipe inspections with self-propelled crawlers. In-house developed scanner systems such as the MEC-Floorscanner, MEC-Pipescanner, MEC-MPS200+ and MEC-Combi-Crawler are used worldwide for standard and niche inspection tasks in the oil and gas industry.

Materials & Inspection Methods
Carbon Steel
Ferromagnetic material, main application area of MEC corrosion inspection up to 42 mm wall thickness.
Stainless Steel
Non-ferromagnetic material, inspectable among other things for chloride corrosion detection in pipework.
Duplex
Micro-alloyed stainless steel, inspectable through coatings with MEC technology.
Super Duplex
Highly alloyed material for offshore applications, detection of pitting and corrosion defects.
MEC (Magnetic Eddy Current)
Evolution of the SLOFEC technique; combination of DC magnetic field and high-frequency eddy current field to distinguish internal and external defects.
