Innovative Tomography Products GmbH (ITP) was founded in 2009 and specialises in the development, manufacture and distribution of medical devices for image-guided therapy and diagnostics. The focus is on the cross-sectional imaging modalities computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The product portfolio comprises interventional cannulas (KIR for CT, KIM for MRI), semi-automatic (BIM) and fully automatic (BAM) MRI-compatible biopsy cannulas as well as introducer cannulas and supplementary accessories for minimally invasive applications. The products are characterised by steering stability, low insertion forces, precise positioning and excellent MRI visibility. In collaboration with leading clinics and scientists as well as national and international cooperation partners, the company turns innovative ideas into high-quality products. The BAM biopsy cannula is approved in Europe (MDR) and in the USA (FDA 510(k)); CT- and MRI-compatible products are also available in the United Kingdom. The company is based in the Bio Medizin Zentrum on the campus of Ruhr University Bochum, in the immediate vicinity of the Gesundheitscampus NRW.
