About Innstadt-Bräu
The Innstadt-Brauerei was first documented in 1318 in the books of the St. Johannes Hospital in Passau as 'Brewery at the Graben on the Inn' and is considered Passau's oldest brewery. It was the first brewery in Passau to bottle its beer, brewed wheat beer, and produced lemonade starting in 1914. After the destruction of the old 'Preyhaus' in 1809, a new brewery was built on the same site in 1812. In 2000, Ottakringer Brewery took over the majority shares; since 2012, the brand has belonged to Hacklberg Brewery in Passau, where the Hacklberg brewing site serves as the home of the beer. It is brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 with selected malt and Hallertau hops; the assortment includes Helles, Pils, Wheat Beer, Dark Beer, Premium Beer, as well as Chabeso lemonades, Radler, and table water.
