About InPlanet
InPlanet is a climate-tech company founded in 2022 that implements permanent CO₂ removal through Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) in Brazil. For this purpose, basalt rock is finely ground and applied to tropical agricultural land – including sugarcane, citrus, coffee and grain fields as well as pastures. Rainwater reacts with the silicate rock and binds CO₂ as stable bicarbonate, while the soils are enriched with nutrients, the pH value is raised and the need for lime and synthetic fertiliser is reduced. The removal is measured via a proprietary MRV process (Measurement, Reporting, Verification) and certified as carbon removal credits under the Isometric Registry. The remote-first company with more than 70 employees, over 70% of whom are in Brazil, has locations in Piracicaba (São Paulo), Munich, Rio de Janeiro and London. Buyers of the credits include Microsoft, AXA, Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1, Boeing and Frontier.
