About Insort
Insort GmbH, based in Kirchberg an der Raab (Berndorf), Styria, develops and manufactures sensor-based sorting and inspection machines for the international food industry. At the core of the systems is the company's own Chemical Imaging Technology (CIT®), which detects visible and invisible defects as well as foreign material and automatically sorts them out. The Sherlock machine range includes the Separator for three-way sorting of whole potatoes, the Separator Fresh for high-volume fresh-pack potato sorting, the Hypernova for in-line quality data on small bulk products, the Safeguard for process control and foreign material detection, the Hybrid combining air separation and flap separation, as well as the Food Analyser for quality monitoring. The systems are used, among other things, for potatoes, almonds and nuts as well as other foods, and are delivered both to system integrators and directly to food businesses. Customers include, among others, Seeberger, Tabata Inc., Invernada and Gold River Orchards Inc. Founded in 2011, the company employs 51 to 100 staff and is part of the eivis group.
