About Intercel
Intercel has been developing and manufacturing battery solutions for industrial applications since 1985: cyclic motive batteries for light electric vehicles, cleaning machines and aerial work platforms, standby backup batteries for telecommunications, data centers and healthcare, custom battery packs for the electrification of off-highway machinery, as well as battery energy storage systems (BESS) for solving grid bottlenecks and peak shaving. At the production center on the Oudeweg in Haarlem – the largest Dutch plant for custom lithium batteries and energy storage, built according to PGS 37-2 – over 250 battery systems are produced per month on a modular assembly line; only the battery cells are imported. The Intercel Group consists of the companies Wetac, BSOL and Intercel and offers services ranging from consulting and project modeling to co-creation from prototype to series production, turnkey delivery, maintenance, charger and charging station integration, as well as training and certification of installers. In 2025 the company received the EcoVadis Gold medal, placing it among the top 5% of rated companies worldwide. Locations are in Haarlem (NL) and Milan (Intercel Italia Srl).
