Protection Solutions for Plant and System Engineering
INTERTEC-Hess GmbH develops and manufactures protective enclosures, protective cabinets and shelters made of glass-fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) for field instruments, analyzers, process control systems and communications technology. Since 1965, more than one million protective enclosures have been delivered to customers from the energy, chemical and plant engineering sectors worldwide. The sandwich construction of GRP layers offers strength similar to steel at around 25 % of its weight, high thermal insulation, UV and corrosion resistance, as well as electrical transparency for radio applications. In addition, the company offers active and passive cooling, heating and frost protection systems, Ex-p pressurization solutions for Ex Zone 21, fire protection up to 120 minutes (ANSI/UL 1709) and turnkey assembly solutions. Production and final assembly take place at the headquarters in Neustadt/Donau as well as in Canada (Sarnia) and the USA (Houston). Around 20 patents document the continuous development of the protection systems.

Materials and Processes
Glass-fiber reinforced plastic (GRP)
Core material of all enclosures and shelters: high stability at around 25 % of the weight of steel, corrosion-, UV- and temperature-resistant from -65 °C to +80 °C.
Mineral wool
Embedded between GRP layers in the FIRE SHELTER and achieves up to 120 minutes of fire protection per ANSI/UL 1709.
