About Involon

Involon Automation GmbH, based in Langenfeld, develops automated solutions for material handling, specialising in the steel industry and the processing of long bars. Founded in 2023, the company is a subsidiary of the Ott Group, which is over 37 years old, and has borne its current name since 2025. Its service portfolio includes consulting with specification and requirements documentation, engineering for complex automation tasks ranging from robots to crane systems and special machine building, as well as software development with modular architectures, virtual commissioning and remote monitoring. Implementation is delivered as a turnkey automation solution: from as-is analysis and feasibility study through project planning, design with a high level of in-house manufacturing depth, and mechanical and electrical assembly, to commissioning, safety acceptance testing, training, and service and maintenance. A reference project is a fully automated saw centre for Liebherr Components in Kirchdorf an der Iller, implemented together with ABB Robotics, in which large ABB robots handle steel bars up to 9 metres long and weighing 1.2 tonnes with millimetre precision. In addition to its two sites in Langenfeld (administration as well as goods receiving and manufacturing), the company maintains a site in Burscheid.
