About IPmotion

IPmotion GmbH, based in Heuchelheim near Gießen, develops, produces and distributes cellular-based routers with WLAN hotspot and CAN interface for special mobile environments. The product portfolio includes the CAR-A-WAN series for command vehicles, ambulances, coaches, rail vehicles, agricultural machinery and ships, as well as StationLink, a router in a die-cast aluminium housing with buffered solar power supply for railway stations. Depending on the variant, the devices feature up to three LTE-A or optional 5G-SA radio modules, WLAN according to 802.11ac with WPA2/WPA3, GPS/Glonass/BeiDou/Galileo, and run on an in-house Linux distribution with OTA firmware updates. Production takes place at the manufacturing facility in Heuchelheim; housings are produced, among other things, by die-cast aluminium, and antennas for the marine variant from fibreglass. Customers include transport companies, fire brigades, emergency services, the waterways and shipping administration as well as agricultural businesses, including SBB, PostAuto Schweiz, E.ON Mitte and EnBW. The company is certified to ISO 9001:2015; the CAR-A-WAN is E1-certified by the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt for factory-fitted vehicle use.
