About iris
iris-GmbH infrared & intelligent sensors, headquartered in Berlin, develops and manufactures sensors and system components for public transport. The product portfolio comprises Time-of-Flight sensors for automatic passenger counting (IRMA 6, IRMA MATRIX), AI-supported video analysis, video security (CCTV), as well as solutions for fleet, device and data management including cloud services. The sensors work on the Time-of-Flight principle: they measure the travel time of infrared light and generate real-time 3D images from it, which are fully automatically evaluated by a signal processor. The rugged sensor housing is made of die-cast aluminium with optical windows of polycarbonate and meets protection classes up to IP67. The products are designed for permanent use in buses, trams, underground trains, trains, at platform doors and on ferries, and comply with railway standards such as EN 45545-2 and EN 50155. With more than 240 employees at five locations worldwide (Berlin, Atlanta, Crolles, Verona, Mornington), iris supplies transport operators on all continents, including reference projects in New York, Belgrade, Gdańsk, Geneva and Mannheim.
