From copper smelter to high-tech manufacturer
Isabellenhütte Heusler GmbH & Co. KG has been documented as a copper smelter at Nanzenbach since 1482 and has operated under its present name since 1728. The family-owned company develops and manufactures at its headquarters in Dillenburg precision resistance alloys, thermoelectric alloys, precision and power resistors as well as shunt-based sensors for current, voltage and temperature measurement. The value chain covers all essential steps at the Dillenburg site: alloy production in the melting plant, wire drawing, strip rolling, etching technology, assembly of resistors and sensors as well as final inspection, packaging and shipping. Alloys are supplied as wires, enamelled wires, stranded wires, strips, foils, powders and pastes to customer specifications; resistors and sensors are used in battery management systems, power electronics, energy meters and charging infrastructure. In addition to the main site, the company has been producing in Dillenburg-Manderbach since 2019 and in Jintan (Changzhou, China) since 2025; development sites are Bochum and its own sales companies in the USA, Japan, China and India. The products are sold worldwide in more than 60 countries.
