iSi Wearable Safety GmbH, based in Vienna (Kürschnergasse 4, 1210), is part of the Austrian iSi Group, a sixth-generation family business, and has managed the Hövding brand together with all associated rights and patents since 2024. The company develops and produces, together with iSi Automotive, an experienced development partner for automotive airbag systems, the Hövding 4 – a portable airbag for urban cyclists that is worn as a collar around the neck. Sensors monitor movement 200 times per second; when the neural-network-based algorithm detects a fall-related accident, the airbag deploys in 0.1 seconds and protects the head and neck. The Hövding 4 underwent a comprehensive validation program with internal test cycles at the iSi Automotive Test Centre as well as practical trials by independent notified bodies. The product is distributed via trading partners in selected European countries and EU-wide via hovding.com.
