About Itema
Itema is a globally active provider of advanced weaving solutions headquartered in Italy. The company manufactures weaving machines in three technologies: rapier (including the R9500 EVO, Galileo RX, Hercules, UniRap and Maxiplus models), airjet (A9500 EVO, Galileo AX) and projectile (P7300HP V8). The machines are used for applications such as apparel, denim, terry and technical fabrics and process yarns made of cotton, linen, silk, wool, cashmere, Lycra, Tencel and polyester. In addition to weaving machines, Itema offers OEM spare parts, after-sales services, repair centers and training at the Itema Campus. Through holdings in innovation-driven companies, the group expands its portfolio: Lamiflex manufactures composite components for aerospace, defense, medical and industrial OEMs, Schoch produces weaving accessories (reeds, drop wires, reed dents), and Tofflon-it supplies freeze-drying systems for biopharmaceuticals. In 2018, Itema introduced the iSAVER® technology, which reduces weft yarn waste at the fabric edges and can be retrofitted to existing R9500 series machines. In 2025, the foundation stone was laid for a new manufacturing site in Ponte Nossa.
