About the ITW Reagents Division

The ITW Reagents Division is a manufacturer of laboratory chemicals, fine chemicals, laboratory biochemicals and raw materials (excipients) for production, analysis, research and life sciences. It was formed in 2010 from the merger of Panreac Química S.L.U. (Spain, founded 1941), Nova Chimica S.r.l. (Italy, 1980, today ITW Reagents S.R.L.) and AppliChem GmbH (Germany, 1992) and belongs to the publicly listed corporation Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE: ITW). The Division operates two production plants in Castellar del Vallès (Barcelona) and Darmstadt as well as a warehouse in Montcada I Reixac and a sales office in Monza on a total area of around 20,000 m². The product range includes analytical reagents according to ACS, ISO, Ph. Eur. and USP, volumetric solutions, HPLC and GC reagents, standards, reagents for metal trace analysis, clinical diagnostics as well as culture media for microbiology in dehydrated and ready-to-use form. In-house laboratories test raw materials and finished products, among other things by AAS, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, chromatography and microbiological testing. Distribution is handled via a distributor network in more than 50 countries under the PanReac AppliChem brand.

Quality Management

An integrated management system according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is implemented at all sites and was multi-site certified by SGS in 2018. In-house laboratories monitor specifications and regulatory requirements for raw and finished materials, among other things by means of metal trace analysis, chromatography and microbiological testing.
