J.H. Tönnjes GmbH is a family business founded in 1832, now in its sixth generation, headquartered in Delmenhorst on the outskirts of Bremen. The company manufactures license plate blanks, finished number plates as well as export and short-term plates from aluminum, complemented by injection-molded plastic parts such as plate holders, on over 2,000 m² of production space. Value creation includes cutting and finishing of the aluminum components, embossing of the security lettering, colored lamination, as well as the development and manufacture of stamping dies and hot stamping machines. In addition, Tönnjes integrates tamper-proof holograms, security markings and RAIN RFID microchips for vehicle identification. Besides license plate production, the company offers tool and machine engineering, advertising signs and lettering, as well as assembly, commissioning and maintenance of production plants. The processes are certified according to ISO 9001:2015; customers are located in Germany and internationally, including Saudi Arabia.
