About us
The J. Pröpster GmbH is a family-owned company founded in 1979 and a manufacturer of components for external lightning protection, earthing and equipotential bonding, isolated lightning protection and surge protection. The product range includes wires, strips and cables, air rods and air masts, holders and clamps, earth electrodes, isolating connector components and surge arresters of types 1, 2 and 3 for power engineering, photovoltaics, control and instrumentation technology and information technology. Manufacturing takes place with a high level of in-house production depth in the company's own plants, including stainless steel V2A and aluminium alloys; coated components (Pröcolor) allow colour matching to buildings. Quality assurance is carried out in an in-house high-voltage testing laboratory with an impulse current generator (200 kA, 10/350 µs), a testing system for component ageing, XRF material analysis and 100 % incoming goods inspection. The company supplies the electrical trade throughout Europe and offers project planning support, customer seminars and its own delivery service.

Materials & Processes
Stainless steel
Material for clamps, saddles, holders and the Niro-Clip snap holder; used e.g. for components subject to frost and corrosion loads.
Aluminium alloy
Material introduced in lightning protection in 1983 for conductors and components.
Plastic (halogen-free)
Halogen-free sheathing of the ISO-Fugal lightning protection wire.
Concrete / natural stone
For concrete bases of air masts and frost-resistant fillings of roof conductor supports.

Quality
In the in-house high-voltage testing laboratory with an impulse current generator of 200 kA (10/350 µs), all lightning protection components and surge protection devices are tested in accordance with current standards. In addition, an XRF handheld analyser, a multisensor measuring machine and a testing system for component ageing are used, along with 100 % incoming goods inspection.
