About us
Jagd- & Sportwaffen Gottfried Prechtl is a master gunsmith business based in Birkenau (Hesse). Founded in Weinheim in 1986 as a sole proprietorship, the company produces quality systems for bolt-action rifles in standard and magnum versions, sporting gun systems as single-shot and repeater models, as well as complete hunting, sporting and official-duty weapons made from self-manufactured systems. Further products include compensators for rifles and shotguns, match triggers, gun parts and gunsmith tools such as the Golmatic barrel press. Manufacturing is done predominantly from steel; for the magnum system, 15 kg of steel is machined, with the finished system weighing 1.35 kg. The machine park comprises conventional and CNC milling machines (Golmatic, Deckel), lathes, a surface grinding machine, die-sinking EDM and engraving machines. In addition to new production, the company performs repairs of all kinds on hunting weapons and large-caliber sporting weapons and operates a retail store for firearms and hunting accessories.
