Contract manufacturing of large parts since 1904
Jakob Behr Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG is a mid-sized contract manufacturing company in Munich that has existed since 1904 and specializes in the machining of medium to large parts in small quantities. The fourth-generation family business operates purely as a contract manufacturer, producing components of all sizes — from large frames for mechanical and plant engineering to complex aluminium parts for aerospace prototypes. The service portfolio includes CNC milling with machining lengths up to 10,500 mm on gantry and portal milling machines, 4-side machining on boring mills, CNC turning and vertical turning up to Ø 2,350 mm, between-centres turning, surface and guideway grinding, as well as slotting. In addition, the company offers 3D milling with CAM programming in SolidCAM, the design and manufacture of fixtures for special components, and the assembly of subassemblies. Materials machined include steel, stainless steel, Inconel, aluminium alloys, titanium, plastics and carbon fibre composites. The company is certified to EN ISO 9001:2015.

Materials and manufacturing processes
Steel
Ferrous metals from structural steel to Inconel are machined for mechanical and plant engineering components.
Stainless steel
Stainless steels are milled, turned and ground, among other things for corrosion-exposed components.
Inconel
Nickel alloys for demanding applications, e.g. in the aerospace sector.
Aluminium alloys
Aluminium is machined, among other things for complex aerospace prototypes.
Titanium
Titanium alloys for high-strength, lightweight components in aerospace.
Carbon fibre composites
CFRP composites can be machined on a contract basis.
Plastics
Plastics of all kinds are machined, among other things for fixtures and components.
Non-ferrous metals
Various non-ferrous metals are machined, from aluminium to titanium.
