About Jakob Thaler
Jakob Thaler GmbH is a cable laying and drum machine manufacturer based in Bad Bramstedt (Schleswig-Holstein). Founded in 1964, the company develops and manufactures machines for mechanical cable laying in the telecommunications and energy industries. The standard product range includes cable pulling and capstan winches with pulling forces of 2 to 10 tonnes, cable drum transport and laying trailers with payloads from approx. 490 kg to 50,000 kg, as well as cable re-drumming systems. Building on this, special-purpose machines have been developed such as pipe cleaning and pipe rehabilitation winches, tensioner winches, vehicle-mounted winches and the TTA 14008S belt winding trailer for underground mining. The portfolio is complemented by blowing technology for micro, mini and fibre optic cables, locating systems, cable laying accessories and digital services such as Remote Monitoring and the JetPlanner 4.0 cable installation simulator. Since November 2022, the company has been part of the Plumettaz Group (Bex, Switzerland). Customers in over 80 countries are served through a worldwide dealer network; the Bad Bramstedt site offers over 4,500 m² of production space including in-house painting and a test track.
