About Janz-Präzisionstechnik
Janz-Präzisionstechnik GmbH (JTL – Janz Technik und Labor) was founded in 1935 by Hugo Janz in Kiel as a workshop for precision fine mechanics and is now based in Malente in Schleswig-Holstein. In cooperation with the Federal Institute for Milk Research, fundamental analytical methods and physical laboratory instruments were developed; to this day, the focus remains on analytics for the dairy industry. The product portfolio includes butter testing devices, whipped cream testing devices, viscometers, osmometers, water baths, funnel apparatus, packaging testers, sample valves, plant growth chambers and cabinets as well as the Asepto air purifier series developed during the coronavirus crisis. As a service and manufacturing company, JTL also carries out CNC contract work on a state-of-the-art machine park with a CNC machining center, repairs cameras, and acts as a supplier to industry. Thanks to a new company foundation in Saxony and a stake in an analytics and research GmbH in Berlin, complete solutions in physical apparatus engineering with electronics, mechanics and PC control are offered. In addition, since 1998 the company has manufactured precision revolvers in its own manufactory (approx. 10 units per month) and, since 2021, the Alpha pistol in 9mm Luger caliber.
