About Joachim Maier Dental Design
Joachim Maier Dental Design is a dental laboratory with an Oral Design Center in Überlingen on Lake Constance. The laboratory manufactures metal-free all-ceramic dental prosthetics: crown and bridge frameworks made of zirconium oxide are milled by CAD/CAM from industrially manufactured, pore-free zirconia blocks with a precision of 50 micrometers. The aesthetic tooth shape is created by manual veneering with silicate ceramic in an individual tooth shade; silicate ceramic is also processed as press ceramic under high pressure in hollow molds. The range of services includes inlays, partial crowns, single crowns, veneers as well as removable dentures in combination technology made of zirconium oxide and PEEK, both biocompatible, corrosion-free materials. After each milling operation, a quality control is performed under the stereomicroscope. Customers are dental practices from the region; the digitization of the dental models is carried out using an optical scanner followed by virtual CAD modeling.

Materials & Processes
Zirconium oxide (high-performance ceramic)
Stable supporting framework for crowns and bridges to absorb chewing forces, metal-free and biocompatible.
Silicate ceramic (veneering/press ceramic)
Light-transmitting ceramic for manual veneering of zirconia frameworks as well as for inlays, partial crowns, single crowns and veneers.
Press ceramic process
Heat-liquefied silicate ceramic is pressed under high pressure into a hollow mold and yields exact fit accuracy.
PEEK (plastic)
Flexible, lightweight and biocompatible plastic for removable dentures in combination with zirconium oxide.
