Jöst abrasives is a medium-sized family-owned company from the Odenwald region specializing in the development, production and distribution of abrasives, cleaning pads and sanding and cleaning machines. Founded in 1981 by Peter Jöst, the company produces sanding papers, film abrasives, non-woven abrasives, micro-finishing abrasives, sanding screens, sanding belts, diamond abrasives, abrasive nets and cleaning pads for the surface treatment of metal, wood, plastics, natural and engineered stone, rubber, laminates, paints and coatings. Since 2014, the company has also been developing its own sanding and cleaning machines, including the tube sanding system, the dust-free sanding system P1, floor machines and the AiO scrubber-drier. It offers custom production in terms of dimensions, color, grit and company printing, as well as training and technical support. Production is 100 % in Germany at the Affolterbach (Wald-Michelbach) and Abtsteinach sites. Customers come from the metal, wood and plastics processing industries and the automotive sector, as well as from trades and specialized retail; since 2016, Jöst has been a system supplier for renowned companies.
