About us
Johann Haunschmidt GmbH is a contract manufacturing company from the Mühlviertel region of Austria that has been active in mold and machine engineering since 1974. The original focus was on the production of injection molds; today the company, with around 50 employees, produces parts for extrusion technology and mechanical engineering. Its range of services includes CNC turning with diameters up to 1200 mm and lengths up to 3000 mm, CNC milling of components up to 4000 mm including in-house CAD/CAM programming, grinding, wire and die-sink EDM, lapping, and honing of bores with diameters of 20–110 mm and lengths up to 2000 mm. In addition, welded fabrications including mechanical machining are produced. Products include pipe heads, nozzle sets and calibration sleeves, as well as tools and replacement machine parts for pipe extrusion, manufactured in single and small-series production from materials such as aluminium, steel, iron, copper and brass. Around 1000 m² of production space is available at the Tragwein site.

Materials & Processes
CNC turning
Turning of components with diameters up to 1200 mm and lengths up to 3000 mm on modern CNC lathes.
CNC milling
Milling of components up to 4000 mm in length, supported by in-house CAD/CAM programming for virtually any geometry.
Wire and die-sink EDM
Machining of electrically conductive metals such as aluminium, steel, copper, brass or iron by means of electrical discharge.
Honing
Fine machining process for refining bore surfaces with diameters of 20–110 mm and lengths up to 2000 mm.
Lapping
Fine machining of flat surfaces to improve surface quality.
Grinding
Material removal with grinding wheels to achieve improved surfaces.
Injection molds
Production of injection molds as the historical origin and core area of mold making.
Welded fabrications
Welded fabrications including mechanical finishing.
