Kröner Sawmill – Good Timber Since 1927
Johann Kröner GmbH & Co. KG operates a traditional gang sawmill in Bischberg at the confluence of the Regnitz and Main rivers, founded in 1927 by Johann Kröner. The family business saws round timber from Franconian growing regions and produces construction and structural timber to customer specifications in all cross-sections up to 14 m in length, roof battens, formwork timber, planks, garden timber as well as joinery products and prism-profiled goods. Another mainstay is the manufacture of packaging materials: one-way pallets, Euro pallets, wooden crates, wooden lids and packaging timber made from softwood and hardwood. The range of services includes planing, impregnation, technical kiln drying (KD) and air drying (AD) as well as heat treatment to IPPC standard for export packaging. Customers come from the construction industry, joineries, the packaging industry, landscaping and horticulture, and the export/freight forwarding sector. Custom-made products and small quantities are also produced.
