About Jongerius ecoduna
Jongerius ecoduna GmbH produces microalgae such as Spirulina and Chlorella as well as Omega-3-rich algae strains in Bruck an der Leitha (Lower Austria) in a closed, vertical and pump-free photo-bioreactor system (PBR) based on its own worldwide-patented technology. On a 1-ha facility with over 10,000 m² of area and 43,000 six-metre-high glass tubes (230 km total length), the algae grow continuously 365 days a year using Austrian drinking water, high-purity nutrient salts, biogenic CO2 and sunlight. The current expansion stage delivers around 100 t of dry algae biomass per year; up to 300 t are planned after full expansion. The HACCP-compliant production covers algae powder for wholesale and processing industry, vegan Omega-3 algae oil as well as contract production and research into further algae strains. Customer industries include food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, animal feed and environmental technology.
