About Us

JOSCH Strahlschweißtechnik GmbH specializes in electron beam welding (EBW) and electron beam hardening. Since 1998, the company has developed, manufactured, and inspected single parts through medium-sized series for industrial customers across the entire DACH region. Four EB systems process components from 50 g to 5,000 kg with diameters up to 2,500 mm and weld depths up to 100 mm in a single pass; the vacuum processes enable low-distortion welds with a minimal heat-affected zone. Materials processed include titanium, copper, aluminum, nickel-based alloys, stainless steels, and special materials such as molybdenum, tantalum, and platinum, including combinations that can hardly be joined using conventional methods. In addition to manufacturing, JOSCH offers weldability consulting as early as the design phase as well as certified inspection procedures in-house. Customer industries include aerospace, mechanical engineering, and medical technology.

Materials & Processes

Ti

Titanium

Lightweight, strong high-performance material for aerospace and medical technology, also combinable with special materials.

Cu

Copper

High thermal conductivity, e.g. for cooling plates; combinations such as copper-steel are also possible.

Al

Aluminum

Lightweight material well suited to EB welding with minimal distortion thanks to the vacuum process.

Ni-Basis

Nickel-based alloys

For components exposed to high temperatures and corrosion in mechanical and plant engineering.

V2A

Stainless steels

Corrosion-resistant steels for precise, safety-critical welded joints.

Mo/Ta/Pt

Special materials (molybdenum, tantalum, platinum)

Refractory and precious metals for special applications, also in combinations such as platinum-titanium.

EBW

Electron beam welding

Fusion welding in a vacuum with weld depths up to 100 mm, low distortion, and narrow weld seams.

EBH

Electron beam hardening

Targeted surface layer hardening with hardening depths up to 1.5 mm for highly stressed, complex components.
