Josef Kogler Natursteinbruch und Schotterwerk GmbH is a natural stone company in St. Urban in the heart of Carinthia. For around 60 years, the blue-green Carat has been extracted there — a rare diabase that is expertly refined using the company's own quarry, processing and sales facilities at the company headquarters. In addition to Carat, the company offers other natural stone qualities from Central Europe — a total of ten of the most attractive European varieties, from raw blank to project-specific one-off. The value chain covers selective extraction, mining, processing, finishing and distribution; the range extends from the Carat wall system to crushed stone and gravel to mineral-rich sands as a fertilizing garden soil additive. Around 40 employees manufacture and distribute the products; the quality of the natural stone products is continuously tested by independent government institutes. The company supplies construction, civil engineering, landscaping and architecture projects and is also active internationally.
