About Manner
Josef Manner & Comp. Aktiengesellschaft is a traditional Viennese confectionery factory, founded on 1 March 1890 by Josef Manner. Its best-known product is the Manner slice (Neapolitan slice), invented in 1898 — a wafer slice with hazelnut cream filling. The range also includes wafers with lemon cream, wholegrain wafers, chocolate confectionery, nougat masses, candies, cocoa and seasonal products. Production takes place at the main plant on Wilhelminenstraße in Vienna-Hernals, in operation since 1913; the Perg plant was closed in 2020 and production fully concentrated in Vienna. Manner is a listed public limited company on the Vienna Stock Exchange whose shares are predominantly family-owned. The company distributes its products through its own sales subsidiaries in Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Germany, an online shop as well as its own shops and flagship stores in Austria.
