Family-owned company with tradition in wear protection technology
Josua CORTS Sohn GmbH & Co. KG is a family-owned company from Remscheid specializing in wear protection and guide elements with a focus on the steel, aluminium and metals industry. The company manufactures precision wear plates and flat guides from its own CORC-g composite steel, in which a through-hardened sliding surface made of European tool steel is bonded to a low-alloy, elastic carrier material. In addition, guide elements such as load cells, swivel plates and guide strips are produced from special-alloy tool steels. As a partner for engineering services, CORTS optimizes housing post and chock geometries as well as the efficiency of rolling processes, delivering solutions from spare parts to turnkey complete solutions. With around 100 employees, the company, founded in 1835 and originally started as a tool forge, serves customers all over the world from Remscheid.

Materials and processes
CORC-g composite steel (standard)
Universally applicable composite steel with a very high hardness level of the through-hardened wear layer (56–62 HRC).
CORC-g Stainless
Corrosion-resistant sliding surface for applications with high corrosive influence in addition to friction wear.
CORC-g Solid Steel (special-alloy tool steel)
Highly stressed, optionally corrosion-protected guide elements such as load cells and swivel plates made of special-alloy tool steels.
Structural steel
Conventional wear plate material whose limitations are overcome by CORC-g composite steel.
Heat-treated tool steel
Material for conventional wear parts and base material for in-house production.
Bronze
Used for conventional wear plates in rolling stands and chocks.
