About MeltMeister
JRB GmbH, based in Ostfildern, distributes an environmentally friendly snow and de-icing granulate under the MeltMeister brand as an alternative to conventional rock salt. The main component of the granulate is calcium magnesium acetate (CMA), supplemented by calcium magnesium chloride, sodium chloride (rock crystal salt) and corrosion inhibitors. The granulate is produced using a patented process that is the result of around ten years of research and studies; the exact formulation is a trade secret. MeltMeister is effective at temperatures down to -40 °C, remains active for up to 72 hours and, according to the manufacturer, is up to three times more productive than rock salt. The product is currently imported from Turkey; relocating production to Germany is being pursued. Customers include Mercedes-Benz, BOSCH and Mr. Wash at the Stuttgart location. Target groups include municipalities, companies with large parking areas, lift system operators, hospitals, educational institutions, shopping centers, gas stations and sports stadiums.
