About the Workshop
The workshop, founded in 1954 by Jürgen Ahrend and Gerhard Brunzema in Leer, is one of the traditional German organ building companies. The sole proprietorship builds new organs and chamber organs, installs instruments in historical cases, carries out restorations of historical organs and implements extensions and conversions of existing instruments. Since 1955 the company has had its own pipe workshop, where the pipework is manufactured, including reconstructions of historical pipes (e.g. wedge bellows). The value chain includes case construction, bellows systems, windchests, actions and on-site installation. The materials used are predominantly wood for cases and bellows systems and metal for pipework. Customers include churches, monasteries, music academies, universities and concert halls in Europe, the USA, Japan and Australia, among them Stift St. Peter Salzburg, St. Jacobi Hamburg, the University of Heidelberg and the Deutsches Museum Munich. The workshop complex on Logaer Mühlenweg in Leer-Loga has existed since 1958.

Quality
The in-house pipe production since 1955 serves to achieve the quality standard of historical pipes; restorations are carried out based on thoroughly studied historical organs, among others in exchange with the organologist Cornelius H. Edskes.
