About Jürgens Holz

Jürgens Holzbearbeitung GmbH is a family-owned company in Kirchhundem founded in 1949 as Sägewerk Jürgens & Lücking and now run by the third generation. The sawmill produces sawn timber products such as squared timber, planks, boards, trench shoring timber as well as packaging timber (cross-cut and half-cut timber) in dimensions from 24 x 48 mm up to 320 x 320 mm and lengths from 2.50 to 8.00 m. The wood species processed are spruce, fir, pine, larch and Douglas fir. In addition to millimetre-precise package and single-piece cut-to-length cutting, the company offers timber drying to IPPC standard (IPPC no. DE-NRW-49 007 03) in two Mühlböck drying kilns as well as stamping and printing of individual pieces and packages. By-products such as wood chips, sawdust, crusher chips, bark and cut-off wood serve as raw material for the wood-based materials and paper industries and for heat and power generation; a portion is used directly to fire the company's own wood-chip heating plant for the Marmecke district heating network.
