About Jungenthal Wehrtechnik GmbH

Jungenthal Wehrtechnik GmbH (JWT), based in Kirchen/Sieg, manufactures and repairs components and systems for military tracked and special-purpose vehicles. Its range includes hull construction from armor steel, cast and rolled plate, running gear components such as swing arms and idler wheel swing arms, winch systems, transfer gearboxes, and system-level repair of complete vehicles, especially for the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). In-house production comprises CNC milling, drilling and turning to the tightest tolerances as well as laser and waterjet processing of large-format plates; welding is performed in steel, aluminum and armor steel in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3834-2. Customers include the defense industry, public-sector clients and the armies of NATO countries; in addition, JWT supplies ready-to-assemble welded constructions for handling equipment in the automotive industry. The company has been part of FFG Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft since 2007 and traces its origins to the locomotive factory Jung & Staimer founded in 1885. Its infrastructure includes crane systems with lifting capacities of up to 19 t, which are used, for example, to move the armor hull of the WiSENT 2.
