About K & M GmbH
K & M GmbH, based in Lichtenau-Henglarn, develops and produces the RSAB system (RoofSafetyAirBag), a tested system for preventing the formation of water and ice slabs on tarpaulin roofs of trucks, trailers and semi-trailers. The roof tarpaulin is lifted pneumatically so that water can drain off directly and dangerous ice formation is avoided. The system is available as RSAB AUTOmatic (actuation via the brake) and RSAB PNEUmatic (operation at the push of a button); optionally, an LED cargo-area light on an aluminium profile is available. The housings of the control units are manufactured in-house in the company's own sheet-metal shop with a hydraulic press brake and a guillotine shear. The RSAB system is installed at the factory in new vehicles from leading trailer manufacturers such as Schmitz Cargobull, Krone, Kögel and Schwarzmüller and can be retrofitted to all vehicle types. Since November 2013, the family-owned company has been producing in a new production hall, which was expanded in 2020 to a total of 1,500 sqm. A quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 is implemented.
