Cable assembly and module assembly from Dortmund

Kabeltechnik Will + Folger GmbH, founded in 1997, is a medium-sized family company based in Dortmund specialising in customer-specific cable assembly and module assembly. The manufacturing spectrum ranges from the finest stranded wires (AWG36) and jacketed cables to complex cable sets and wire harnesses with cross-sections up to 4x300 mm². Processes include crimping with manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic equipment, lead-free soldering, compacting and ultrasonic welding, hot-melt encapsulation, injection moulding (including M8/M12 connectors), spiral cable production, 3D printing as well as printing and marking. In addition, electromechanical modules, complete devices and the wiring of switchgear systems and control cabinets are produced. Around 60 employees serve industries such as mechanical and plant engineering, automation and robotics, electronics and switchgear construction, construction and building technology, medical technology and mobility – from prototypes to small and medium series and large-scale production. The quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (DEKRA), and UL approvals are in place for export projects, especially for the US market.

Materials and processes

Cu

Copper conductors

Stranded wires and conductors from AWG36 to 4x300 mm² form the processing spectrum of cable assembly.

HM

Thermoplastic encapsulation compounds (hot melt)

Used to seal and insulate sensitive cable connections against moisture, dust and mechanical stress.

TP

Plastics (injection moulding)

Used for overmoulding cables, connectors and components, including M8/M12 connectors.
