Karl Alfons Gass GmbH & Co. KG develops and produces electrical components: transformers (single-phase, three-phase, toroidal-core and autotransformers), chokes, mains filters, DC power supplies as well as special items such as the Condex residual water extraction unit. Production takes place in a 2000 m² production hall in Alsfeld, where transformers and chokes for medium-voltage technology with power ratings of up to 2500 kVA are also manufactured. The value chain includes development using 3D-CAD software and calculation programs, series production and custom-made solutions, impregnation of the windings on a processor-controlled impregnation system as well as testing of transformers on an in-house test bench, also in the context of repairs. The company supplies energy supply companies and municipal utilities as well as customers from low- and medium-voltage technology and HVAC/ventilation technology in Europe, Asia and North America; many products are certified to UL standards. Since its founding in 1946, the company has been active in the Upper Hesse region and maintains stock products for flexible delivery.
