Bindewald – Kupfermühle and Malting Plant since 1871

Karl Bindewald GmbH, headquartered in Bischheim (Rheinhessen/Palatinate), is a family-owned grain processing company that has been active in milling since 1871. The company mills wheat, rye and spelt into over 200 different flours and milled products, operates its own malting plant for brewing barley and develops malt-based ingredients. The raw materials come predominantly from regional sourcing in one of the productive grain-growing regions of south-west Germany; processing steps are milling, blending and packaging in paper bags and sacks of 1–25 kg as well as loose goods in silo trucks. Customers include the food and beverage industry, the bakery and confectionery trades and wholesalers; distribution covers Germany and all of Europe, with malt products also sold via distribution partners in Brazil. In addition to its own vehicle fleet, laboratory analysis and product development, Bindewald's raw materials concept and the regional concept "ÄhrenGlück" ensure consistent quality. The goal was to reach an annual total capacity of 350,000 tonnes by 2020 across the Bischheim, Kirchheimbolanden and Wiesenttal sites, complemented by the refining partner Nützel Mühle GmbH in Weimar.
