Karl Schöngen KG Kunststoff-Rohrsysteme produces and distributes plastic pipes and fittings for cable protection, wastewater pipes for trenchless and open-trench installation, as well as seepage and drainage pipes. Products are manufactured by extrusion from PVC-U, PE-HD and PP (including PP-HM, filler-free); the product range includes cable protection pipes, jacking pipes such as Rocket Pipe and Concept-HL, underground cable pipe systems SHV and Concept-Drain system manholes. Customers come from the energy supply, telecommunications, wastewater disposal, construction supplies, and road, rail, tunnel and landfill construction sectors; the products carry approvals from Deutsche Bahn AG, Deutsche Telekom AG, DIBt and the Eisenbahnbundesamt (Railway Authority). The third-generation family business was founded in 1956 by Karl Schöngen as an electrical contracting firm and began pipe extrusion in the 1970s at its headquarters in Salzgitter-Engerode. PVC cable protection pipes are mainly produced at the parent plant in Salzgitter-Engerode; the plant built in 1999 in Salzgitter-Watenstedt produces pipes from polyolefins. New developments such as the patented Multi-Raster welded joints and the socketless pipe connections introduced in the 1980s round off the product range.

PVC-U
For cable protection pipes (Standard made from recycled material, Professional from 100 % virgin material) and Rocket Pipe jacking pipes.
PE-HD (high-density polyethylene)
For cable protection pipes as straight lengths, coils and drum goods, as well as SHV underground cable pipes made of long-term temperature-resistant materials.
PP (polypropylene)
For SHV underground cable pipe and drainage pipe systems in road, rail, tunnel and landfill construction.
PP-HM (filler-free PP with higher modulus of elasticity)
For jacking pipes MV/MRV/MRS 2.0/ML and high-load sewer pipes ARS 2.0 with DIBt approval.
EPDM and NBR seals
