About KARL STORZ
KARL STORZ SE & Co. KG is an internationally active family-owned company headquartered in Tuttlingen, Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 1945, the company manufactures and distributes medical instruments and devices, in particular rigid and flexible endoscopes, instruments for minimally invasive surgery, video laryngoscopes, camera systems and OR integration solutions. Starting from instruments, head lamps and binocular loupes for ENT medicine, the company evolved from a pure product supplier into a medical technology system provider. Milestones such as the invention of the cold light source (1960) and the rod lens system developed jointly with Harold Hopkins (1965) shaped endoscopy worldwide. The product portfolio comprises more than 15,000 articles for specialties such as general surgery, urology, ENT, gynecology and airway management, as well as human and veterinary medicine. With its subsidiary KARL STORZ VentureONE, founded in 2023 (headquarters in Singapore, tech hub in Munich), the company is expanding its business into robotic surgery, AI and virtual reality.
